A Testimony of Faith
By RJ Domingo

I was invited by Mary Ann to take part in a charity event, which aimed to provide free medical check-up and medicines, to conduct teaching and sharing about food nutrition and proper hygiene for the local people in General Santos City.

I was assigned to teach and share. At first, I did not have an idea where to start. I did not know what to expect from the people and how they would respond to the lecture. That was my first time to conduct a teaching session in front of a crowd so I was worried that they might not understand our lesson. I had a few questions on our activity but because God gave me an idea on what to do and how to do it, I managed to develop a teaching methodology and we, as a group, were able to deliver it effectively. The people were responsive and attentive and I could say that they understood the values of our lecture. Likewise, I even took part in counseling (although I was not assigned here), because God gave me words of encouragement to share with others and helped me to minister Jesus Christ to them.

Through this experience, I have learned that when you serve others regardless of circumstances & hardships, God will be there. Ephesians 3:20-21 says “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations for ever and ever! Amen.”

He filled up our shortcomings and intervened in moments when we needed Him. Indeed, it was not about our volunteer work but it was a matter of God’s Love over the people and His Glory. It was a blessing to serve them because I could see through their eyes and actions that they were delighted. It was a heart-warming experience. It helped me grow in areas were I am not good at and it was an opportunity for me to excel as a leader.
