It started one Sunday afternoon after the second worship service. Mary Ann asked me whether I would want to join the meeting for the upcoming medical mission. I was hesitant at first, but since I did not have plans to go somewhere else that time, I decided to attend the meeting. As the meeting went on, I asked myself why I was sitting there and how I could be of help the fact that I do not have any related medical experience. Taking part in medical mission is a new thing or experience for me since I have not been a part of such event, specifically medical mission.
As days and months passed by, the thought of whether to go or not still bothered me as I did not have any sufficient budget for the plane ticket and I was uncertain if my leave would be approved. I knew that many of my colleagues would be on leave during that week so I followed up with my supervisor. Fortunately, my leave was approved on the last week of March but at that time, I did not have enough money to book a plane ticket. I almost lost hope so I decided to help the medical mission in any means I could just in case I wouldn’t be able to go. But then, God used someone to help me with my plane ticket and it resulted that I was able to go and be part of the medical mission. I was in awe and thankful to Him for providing for my needs and doing unimaginable things on my behalf.
I am so privileged and blessed to be a part of this medical mission and work with volunteers from VCF-GenSan, ENCS and other people specifically in the Personal Hygiene Team. I commend and thank the Lord for their lives. It reminds me that we are blessed to be a blessing to other people. This experience led me to believe that Lord uses us as His hands and feet to reach out and bless more people in any means we can.
