For the past three years, I have been praying to spearhead a mission but I was uncertain of the kind of mission it would be. Last May when I was praying to God, He prompted me to go for medical mission in a place that He impressed in my heart, General Santos City, Philippines. At first I was reluctant but I chose to obey whatever passion the Lord has stirred within me regardless of my thoughts and feelings. Hence, I chose to get out the boat and obey.
After the prayer and fasting last January 22, 2012, God gave me a word through Pastor Larry. He said, “This is just the starting point. The Lord will work miraculously on your behalf”. One month has passed but I still haven’t witnessed how God was working supernaturally in this mission. Last February 23 to be exact, I received only S$350. Thinking that we would not be able to raise fund as there were only a few weeks left before the medical mission, I found myself desperately crying out to God. I even asked and questioned Him if we would still continue with what He has prompted and impressed to my heart. But the Lord gave me a revelation as stated in 2 Corinthians 3:18 “I am moving in your life in sometimes indiscernible ways, line upon line, precept upon precept, and from one degree of glory to another Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. There is more going on behind the scenes than you could ever imagine. This is where faith comes in, faith to believe I mean and do what I say. I am not a man that I should lie. (Nehemiah 23:19) - "I would not say all I have said to you and not do it. Trust in My character, in My faithfulness, in My love which endures forever.”
After that enlightening revelation, I was still a bit uncertain as the figures were in hundreds only. On March 4, during Pastor’s Larry’s preaching of Hebrews 12:2, “The righteous will live by faith in, the righteous we know who we are and who we serve and God is involved in every area of our lives”, the Holy Spirit prompted me to dare God and asked Him if He is involved in this medical mission. He then impressed in my heart that I should give 100% of myself, including my needs and concerns. I gave everything to Him on that day, and told Him, “I will give it You and I will continue to pray for this medical mission”. It was also during that time when I took part in the prophetic training, in which God gave me a word in Habakkuk 2:3-4. After the prophetic training, the blessings and provisions overflowed and many people came to bless and give for the said medical mission. On March 11, I asked Pastor Charles for prayer and he gave Ephesians 3:20.
Before the medical mission, I prayed and fasted but not specifically for the medical mission since I have already lifted all our concerns to Him, but to check my relationship with God and discern if I still abide in Him. I opened the Bible and God gave me a word in Jeremiah 33:3 and Jeremiah 29:12-14 which reminded me that I should love the Lord will all my heart.
On March 27, the last day of the prophetic training, I got a word from the Lord through Czarina. She said, “Anne, I see you kneeling down with outstretched arms at the foot of the cross. A light is shining upon you and the angels, with little pitchers, are coming down to pour oil on your head. God is anointing you. He is with you and you have God's blessings. Do whatever you feel God is leading you to do for He is with you”.
Indeed, God proved that He is faithful and He was with us during the entire mission. He placed and led the right people to help with the medical mission. Even though we encountered some concerns regarding the doctor involved, He provided and touched two more doctors who became part of this medical mission. We were also blessed with a Good Samaritan, who not only partnered and blessed us with the medicines but also graciously offered her help in organizing and partnering with our future medical missions. Little did I expect that she would also be used by God to answer and meet my personal needs.
Before, I was uncertain why God chose GenSan over all other places, but then He opened my eyes and made me realize that GenSan is the place where He would meet my needs and answer my prayers. What an awesome God we serve!
